What is FPSC?

• Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is a constitutional body established under Article 242 of the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973.
• FPSC has been mandated for conducting tests and examinations for recruitment to:
- The civil services of the Federation
- Civil posts in connection with the affairs of Federation in BS- 16 and above.
• In discharge of its statutory functions, FPSC conducts competitive exams, tests & interviews for recruitment to the vacancies requisitioned to FPSC by Federal Ministries/Divisions/Departments.

When does FPSC advertise posts and where they are published?

• Advertisements for posts (BS-16 and above) are advertised quarterly as per the approved schedule, however, in case of exigencies, Commission may advertise the vacancies as and when required.
• The vacancies are published:
- On the FPSC official website
- In leading national newspapers
- Occasionally through other media channels
- Consolidated advertisements can be accessed at: https://www.fpsc.gov.pk

How do I apply for an FPSC job?
• Visit FPSC official website and check the latest job advertisements.
• Apply online as per the instructions in the advertisement.
• No hard copy of the application is required.
• Ensure you meet all eligibility criteria before applying.
Can I apply for multiple positions at once?
Yes, you can apply for multiple positions, provided you meet the eligibility criteria for each position.
What is the procedure for depositing the FPSC examination fee?
• The examination fee must be deposited online through 1LINK against a dedicated PSID generated through FPSC’s online portal on or before the closing date.
• Detailed guidelines for fee submission are available on the FPSC website.
Whether examination fees paid by the candidates is utilized by the FPSC?
The fee is directly deposited into the National Treasury by the candidate, which is not utilized by FPSC. It is utilized by the Government through budgetary mechanism.
Has the syllabus changed after the conversion from descriptive to MCQ tests?
• The syllabi for each post are notified on the FPSC website well before conduct of examination/test. After conversion from Descriptive to MCQ based test, mutatis mutandis changes made in the syllabi will be placed on website.
• Required MCQs papers for the respective posts are designed from the published syllabi.
When I should reach the examination centre?

It is mandatory to report at the designated examination centre one (01) hour before commencement of exam/test and to be seated fifty (50) minutes before examination commencement time.

What is the Fast Track System?
• Under the Fast Track System, candidates are called one day before the interview for scrutiny of documents. If they are found eligible in the prescribed ratio, then they have to appear in interview next day.
• Rejected or ineligible candidates receive letters stating the reasons for rejection(s).
• The purpose of Fast Track is to reduce delays caused by calling hard copies of documents and to make the recruitment process faster and more efficient.
How can I check my written test marks on FPSC’s website?
• Initially, order of merit is published on official website.
• Marks of test and interview are published on official website after finalization of the case.
How candidates are informed about scrutiny/ interview schedule?

• The candidates are informed through following means:
i. A Public Notice highlighting the names and Roll Numbers is displayed on FPSC website to inform candidates that they will be called for document checking and interview soon.
ii. The respective candidates are informed of actual date of scrutiny and interview as per program of the case
iii. The candidates are also informed through SMS on the cell numbers given by them in online application.

What should a candidate do if he/ she is declared ineligible at the time of scrutiny?
• The candidate should read the advertised criteria and General Instructions thoroughly available on FPSC website.
• If candidate thinks that he/ she is eligible for the post, then the candidate has the right to file representation within thirty (30) days of rejection by depositing the representation fee. However, if representations are made earlier to the Commission, it will help candidates for quick decision on their restoration.
How a candidate is informed about fate of representation?
• If a candidate provides the requisite proof against the rejection and the Commission is satisfied with it, then candidates will be restored and will be called for interview.
• If the candidate fails to provide the requisite proof against his/ her rejection, then the candidate will be called for personal hearing and further proceeding will be in accordance with the decision of the Commission.
How candidates are informed about final result after interviews?
• The final result is invariably displayed on FPSC website after completing all codal formalities.
• The nominated candidates are also informed individually in writing by FPSC.
How can I communicate my concerns to FPSC?
• All correspondence must be addressed to the Secretary, FPSC, Islamabad, by designation only (not by name).
• Letters addressed to the Chairman, Members, or other officers (except the Secretary) will not be entertained.
• Grievances in evaluation of answer copies are not entertained as re-evaluation is prohibited.
